Ravens make roster move to help resign Ken Hamlin
By: Dave McHugh
BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Ravens made a significant roster move on Wednesday, releasing veteran Trevor Pryce to help strengthen the secondary.
According to a story on the Ravens website, Pryce was released so the team could resign safety Ken Hamlin who was released last week when cornerback Cary Williams finished a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
With a secondary already banged up starting the season and with safety [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] expected to miss at least three more games, the Ravens felt they needed more depth in the secondary.
Pryce, who was in his fifth season with the Ravens,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], had seen limited action so far this year, recording just one tackle. The lineman had lost his starter role midway through last season to Dwan Edwards, but Pryce had decided to take a pay cut to remain with the Ravens this season.
Pryce started his career with the Denver Broncos who drafted the defensive end out of Clemson with the 28th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. Pryce signed as a free agent with the Ravens in March of 2006.
