That strategy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however, led to Matt Moore's benching in favor of rookie Jimmy Clausen. With a rookie running the Panthers offense, it just increases the need for [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in particular to get his game going and help drive the Panthers down the field from time to time.
NFL Week 4 Picks: Carolina Panthers' [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Rushes for 100 Yards
This week he takes on the New Orleans Saints, and I think this is the week he finally breaks 100 yards and gets into the end zone. The Saints have struggled against the run, allowing 145 yards a game to opposing offenses. Their defense is the perfect match for a struggling [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and he should get going this week.
Carolina entered the season expecting to ride the strength of their running game in order to move the ball offensively and generate points. That has not gone at all to plan. In all three of their losses, the Panthers' running attack has underperformed. Part of it could be blamed on the fact that Carolina fell behind early in games and was forced to ease off the run in order to try and throw their way back.
Keep in mind, also, that in DeAngelo's only appearance against the Saints' defense in 2009, he ran for 149 yards on 21 carries with 2 touchdowns. He's no sure thing to recreate that type of game, but I expect him to do well in Week 4.
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] has yet to break the 70 yard mark in his three lackluster games so far. Last week he faced a tough Cincinnati run defense so an underwhelming performance is not shocking, but he did just as little against less heralded run stoppers in the Giants and Buccaneers.
