Clinton police say a 38-year-old woman has stolen more than 80 items from graves [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] at two local cemeteries.The Clinton woman was arrested and charged on multiple counts of class B misdemeanor theft earlier this week, when an ornament police set up with a tracking device led them to her house.
Sgt. Todd Kelly the department received reports of decorative figurines and other items going missing from the Clinton cemetery.“A couple of families, in particular, were putting stuff out for the holidays [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and the next day they would be gone,” Kelly said. “We stepped up a little because we thought it was kind of odd the wind would blow these big items away.”The thefts were reported to have been going on in Clinton and Syracuse cemeteries for more than a year.
