The BC New Democrats will be showing the hockey game at the leadership vote on Sunday.The Canucks and Blackhawks play at 5 o'clock and that's right when the party will be electing its new leader. The party is encouraging people to wear NDP buttons on their Canucks jerseys.
NDP party secretary Jan O'Brien says they've decided to show the game to make sure everyone is having a good time, "and that they are not kind of sneaking out to look at TV, but they can see it on the big screen and really enjoy it."She said she is not concerned about people skipping the convention to watch hockey, and there is no reason people can't celebrate the party's new leader and hopefully cheer another Canucks win.
