“You have to accept it for what it is and you have to know the business for what it is,” Jacobs said. “It is not the end of the world.”
Jacobs flashed his “Worldwide” dance in the end zone before embracing [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on the sideline. The run and the celebration were emblematic of a new Jacobs — one who has accepted an altered role in the Giants offense behind a player he called his “little brother from another mother.”
The duo served as the only ballcarriers during a 58-yard, fourth-quarter scoring drive that gave the Giants a two-score lead in their eventual 28-20 victory over the Detroit Lions.
The TD capped the scoring for the Giants and served as a microcosm for the way the backfield combination has developed through the first six weeks of the season.

[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] departs the huddle after every play called for him by telling his linemen “this one could be the one.” He validated the claim on the first run after the fumble. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] took a rushing play called “36” through the right side of the line, past Lions safety C.C. Brown and sprinted to the 13-yard line before Chris Houston dragged him down.
All three runs came with Bear Pascoe as the lead blocker. Playing fullback in place of the injured Madison Hedgecock, Pascoe received praise from both Giants runners.

He said his objective was to ensure the offense operates without modifications because of a lack of a fullback, and he particularly wants to enhance — not inhibit — the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]-Jacobs combination that has helped the Giants secure a three-game winning streak.
“We work together,” said [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], whose 133 rushing yards gave him his second 100-yard game in three weeks. “We got each other’s back, no matter what. If he’s taking a hit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I got his back, and same for me. We know what we can do talent-wise, and all we got to do is keep running.”
[link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was replaced by Jacobs, whose bruising running style forces defenses to quickly adapt from [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]’s shiftiness. Jacobs rushed to the 7-yard line before he rumbled 6 yards into the end zone, toppling over Brown at the 1.
“Ahmad… can pull off some moves that are unbelievable, whereas Brandon is just an ungodly powerful back that ... can just punish guys,” Pascoe said. “Between the two of them, it keeps defenses on their toes and guessing what we’re going to do.”
Their development was most evident on that final scoring drive. Clinging to a 21-17 lead, Giants safety Deon Grant forced a critical fumble in Giants territory with 5:01 remaining in the game.
Jacobs, who was frustrated about his role earlier this season, scored two touchdowns in relief of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. He’s the clear backup, but their complementary running styles have allowed the Giants to develop a productive ground attack.
