Despite that mishap the Blackburn businessman remained upbeat,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], saying: “I was pushing too much and ended up very lucky not to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] destroy the car but I’m taking more positives from this than negatives as I always knew it would be tough on Epynt.”
Radciffe’s Steve Simpson, Stone’s good friend and arch rival, finished as rally winner as he and co-driver Aled Davies brought their Subaru Impreza WRC home over a minute ahead of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the Ford Focus WRC of Damian Cole and Craig Drew.Stone is already looking ahead to the next round of the series, May’s Manx Telecom Rally, in which he will have co-driving legend Ian Grindrod reading the notes.
It will be the first time Grindrod, who won the Isle of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Man International Rally alongside Jimmy McRae in 1982 and 1987, and Stone have competed together.
