The top markets were Miami and Atlanta
The rankings, based on online surveys of 2,000 U.S. businesses with between two and 50 [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] employees,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], measured each market based on the perceived importance of wireless technology, use of wireless technology, use of mobile applications and percentage of workers using wireless technology to do work outside of the office.
The top markets were Miami and Atlanta. Kansas City beat out Boston and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Cleveland.
According to Kansas City’s subset of the survey, involving 100 small companies, 33 percent of respondents said all of their employees use mobile technology to work away from the office, which is up from around 18 percent in 2008 and is expected to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] reach 40 percent next year. Ninety-one percent of respondents said they use mobile technology as part of their operations; 59 percent said it would be difficult, if not impossible, to work without it.
