WASHINGTON, DC (KAIT) - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and FAB/Starpoint LLC, of New York, N.Y. announced a voluntary recall of Circo beaded door curtains. According the CSPC, Door curtainthe beads pose a strangulation hazard when a child plays with the beaded strands by wrapping them around their necks or creating loops in the beads. Children can also entangle themselves in the strands just by running through the doorway. The CSPC says three entanglements were reported. In January 2009,Google优化, a nine-year-old was going through the beads when she was entangled and nearly choked as she continued walking through them. The next year, a 6-year-old girl suffered lacerations to her neck when she passed through the beads. In April 2010, the beads suspended a girl momentarily when her father walked through the doorway and the beads swung back behind him. She received scratches to her neck as well. 79,000 of the pink Circo door curtains were sold in Target stores nationwide and target.com from January 2009 through May 2010 for between $13 (at target.com) and $15 in stores. The curtain measures 12 inches by 72 inches. CSPC recommends consumers take the curtains down immediately and return them to any Target store for a full refund or store credit.
