Man uses stolen truck in ATM heist
A Saskatoon man faces theft and other charges after allegedly stealing a bank machine from a financial institution Diebold Parts in Prince Albert and leading police on a wild chase.Police say last Wednesday just before 2 a.m. a man was seen forcibly removing a bank machine from a building and loading it into the back of a pickup truck. When he drove away, a sharp-eyed citizen called police.
Officers spotted the truck, a 2001 red Dodge, near Prince Albert's South Hill Mall but the driver refused to stop and drove off along Highway 11 toward Saskatoon.Near the town of Duck Lake the driver took the truck into the ditch, drove through a field onto a dirt road and then into a washed-out section of road where the truck got stuck in a metre of water. Police then conducted what they describe as a high-risk takedown. A suspect was arrested and the ATM was found in the back of the truck.The truck was later determined to have been stolen.James Chaisson, 21, faces a variety of charges including theft. He is Diebold Parts scheduled to appear in Prince Albert court on Wednesday.A Flint woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon at her home on Earlmoor Boulevard near Dexter Street and Davison Road.
She woke up to a loud noise and found a male suspect holding her up at gunpoint,Robe cocktail, police said. He demanded money, and the suspect gave him $200.The suspect then forced the woman to drive him to an automatic teller machine to get more money, where Diebold Parts the victim withdrew $400 and gave it to him, according to police reports.The victim's sister was also being held up by another male and a female suspect in the home's living room, police said. No injuries were sustained.
