The final fumble
A second look at the Jets' 24-20 victory over the Broncos
The Broncos still had a chance to drive 80 yards in 1:13 — until they fumbled the football. The bad snap from rookie C J.D. Walton was to the left of Kyle Orton, who scrambled for the loose ball until Jets CB Dwight Lowery Jersey recovered it. “He was snapping fine all day, but there were times I had beat him, when he had to snap then block me by himself,” explained Pryce, who was lined up over Walton. “That’s hard to do. I think he might have thought to myself, ‘I’ve got to get it out.’ ” Even without the bad snap, the Jets concluded after watching the tape that Denver’s third-and-6 play didn’t have a prayer to begin with. According to the players, they used a defensive call they hadn’t shown yet this season, made confusing by the disguised roles of the seven DBs on the field. Brodney Pool was the deep safety, and Darrelle Revis was covering Demaryius Thomas. Then,NBA Jerseys, on the defensive right side, Antonio Cromartie and Dwight Lowery Jersey were stacked over Brandon Lloyd, and Jim Leonhard and Drew Coleman were stacked over Jabar Gaffney on the defensive left. Cromartie took Lloyd and Leonhard took Gaffney, while both Dwight Lowery Jersey and Coleman blitzed — along with S James Ihedigbo. Dwight Lowery Jersey was in excellent position to recover the fumble, but the players believed the organized chaos in that play would have been effective regardless. |
